MAPA - Microsoft Association of Practicing Architects is a global community of Architects who satisfy their customers by building IP and solutions leveraging Microsoft Cloud Services, Products and Technologies. The program empowers its members with a community to interact and engage with fellow members all over the globe and also gives them a channel to communicate back to Microsoft. Coming with tons of free benefits, the program is continuously evolving to become more relevant to its members.

MAPA strives to help Architects who are building real-time IP / Solutions and / or are working with Customers to architect their IT environment. Right from identifying the best practices to be followed while building an IP / Solution, MAPA helps the Architects by providing architectural guidance to expedite the solution development cycle. The only step that a member needs to do is to write back to us and we take it forward from there. We encourage the architects to connect with us on their work to seek enablement help at any phase of solution development.

Through MAPA, one learns the latest Microsoft technologies by attending training sessions delivered by Industry and domain experts. These trainers have significant experience of working on Microsoft Technologies in real-world projects and scenarios. The sessions are designed such that a member can gain competency starting at level 100 and maturing to level 400. Currently, the program focuses on following technologies: Microsoft Cloud (Azure), Private Cloud, Dynamics CRM and AX, Hyper-V, Business Intelligence (BI), Internet of Things (IOT) and O365.

Real-world Architectural sessions are also conducted as part of the program. Post the event, the online sessions are stored as recordings and are made available to the members. So the members can take advantage of the trainings as per their schedules. Apart from the free training sessions, the members are also given access to ready resources to help them build competency.

Member levels are decided through extensive profiling which is based on both a member's previous and current work as well as her / his participation in the community.   • Associate : These are Potential Pioneers. Person with a role/designation of an Architect or Consultant with 6+ years of relevant experience.

  • Pioneer : Person playing the role of an Enterprise Architect, with 10+ years of relevant experience, who has been responsible for the technical leadership of a new business critical initiative or a key enterprise customer engagement, whose success has resulted in multifold increase in returns for the business.

  • Luminary : Person playing the role of a Chief Architect, CTO, or CIO of a Business Venture/Unit, with 15+ years of relevant experience, responsible for providing and implementing the technical strategy for the business venture/unit with a proven track record or having done this successfully in the past.

The Program is completely free for its members. There are no costs involved.

Yes, everyone in the technology space who wants to keep herself / himself updated on the latest technologies can join the program. There are no conditions involved.

While there is no work experience requirement, this program is more suited for folks who see themselves as Architects today or in the future.

MAPA mailers will be sent to your registered Email Id. These mailers will brief on the latest acivities. Alternatively, a member can log into the portal and view the latest updates.

Training sessions would be organized either online or in-person in specific cities based on demand and feasibility.

The trainings are recorded and are made available as past events. You can view / download the past sessions.

MAPA provides you with a channel to write back to Microsoft. We at Microsoft strive to help you get skilled.

MAPA and MVA are two separate entities and have separate logins.
